Kungsträdgården

During the summer, Kungsträdgården transforms into a concert center, while in winter, it becomes a bustling skating rink. This park is central Stockholm's most frequented park. Find what to explore and how to get there.

Across the Strömgatan pier lies Stockholm's most popular park, an urban hub known as Kungsträdgården. This park, affectionately dubbed Kungsan, is a focal point in the city. It's full of numerous cafes, restaurants, and art galleries.

Originally serving as the King's Garden adjacent to the Royal Palace, it once provided recreation for monarchs and featured an orchard in the 16th century. Over time, Kungsträdgården transitioned into an army training park.

A park for all seasons

Spring is the ideal time to visit Stockholm to see Kungsträdgården bursting with vibrant cherry blossoms. Summer welcomes daily concerts, dancers, and various cultural events in the park.

Winter transforms Kungsträdgården into Stockholm's ice-skating rink, drawing crowds of locals and tourists gliding across the ice. The park is also filled with small stalls adorned with Christmas decorations during this time.
