Stockholm Souvenirs

March 14, 2008

A visit to the City of Stockholm in Sweden, especially if it is your first time to come to this wonderful capital city, demand that you bring home a couple of souvenirs to share with friends and family as well as to remember your trip by. And you need not worry about what to buy, where to buy and how much to spend for Stockholm souvenirs because souvenir shopping in Stockholm is both easy and enjoyable to do.

When talking of souvenirs from Stockholm, many people would immediately think of Swedish glass and crystal. Hand blown vases, plates, figurines, urns, wine glasses, bowls and other glass products from Sweden are considered very valuable items because of their beauty, level of craftsmanship and quality. These glass and crystal items can be colorless and see-through or feature different opaque colors of reds, greens, purples, yellows, blues and a million others. However, Swedish glass and crystal souvenirs may be a little pricey so if your budget does not allow for large, expensive luxury pieces, why not go home with a few small glass and crystal items instead.

Swedish craft work products are also very popular with tourists because of their uniqueness and beauty. You can find anything from hand sewn quilts, knitted wool sweaters, hand carved boats, Christmas ornaments, and wooden Dalecarlian horses.

Books and antiques are also popular souvenirs that vacationers, visitors and tourists bring home with them after a trip to Stockholm City. There are plenty of book fairs and book stores in Stockholm, as well as loads of antique shops, bazaars and fairs held all over the city. Gamla Stan or Old Town is probably the best place to go hunting for books and antiques, some of which can cost a whooping deal of money while others can be found being offered at bargain prices.

Since there are plenty of souvenirs to choose from which are offered at a wide range of prices for all budgets, you are sure to find a Stockholm souvenir or two to take home with you!
