Stockholm is a unique mixture of ancient civilization, marvelous architecture and breathtaking natural miracles. The beautiful buildings are interchanged with multiple bridges and green parks. Swedish people are also great admirers of art. In particular, one of the oldest art galleries on the European continent was established in 1916 in Stockholm, which nowadays is known as Liljevalch. It presents numerous collections of national and foreign artists of the 20th century. Liljevalch is also famous for annual spring exhibition of modern Swedish art. One of the recent art achievements of Stockholm is the acknowledgement of the city subway as the longest art gallery in the world. Its walls were designed by multiple painters and artists, who decorated it with beautiful drawings, graffiti, bas-reliefs and frescoes.

Speaking about ships and sailings, it is impossible not to mention that Stockholm is a happy hunting ground for yachtsmen. Practically, on every island travellers might rent a boat and go sailing across Stockholm archipelago and marvelous skerry-guards and observe the beauty of urban scenery under. Among four most popular yacht tourism destinations in Scandinavian region, Stockholm, Sankt-Petersburg, Tallinn and Turku, Swedish capital is likely to have the biggest amount of yachts – 1700!  Besides, watercourses of the city are perfect for fishing activities.
